I2C Peripherals

There are a couple of I2C peripherals that you can access via the PS_I2C1. The following components and addresses are listed below. The I2C bus is available on the expansion connectors for interfacing with external sensors. The I2C bus on MC1 is level shifted to 3.3V and has pull ups present on the ECM1900.

Voltage, Current, and Temperature Monitors

Four Analog Devices LTC2991 provide voltage, current, and temperature monitoring for the ECM1900. Device sensor inputs are connected as shown in the table below. +xV_SRC and +xV connections measure the voltage across a 5mOhm resistor for current sensing. Clock Generator (Si5341)

A Silicon Labs Si5341B programmable clock generator provides nine independent LVDS clock pairs to the FPGA. For more information, visit the Clock Generator page.

USB Type-C Channel Configuration

A TUSB320 (U4) handles communication and configuration of the USB-C CC lines. I2C access is provided for this device, but the default operation of the device is sufficient for most use cases.

FPGA Core Supply Regulator

The FPGA core supply is provided by a programmable switching regulator. This device has been configured at the factory. The PMBus interface may be used to read out voltage and current monitor values.

Changing any settings on this device could cause permanent damage to the ECM1900 and is not covered by our warranty.
