EEPROM

A 64 Kbit I²C EEPROM (Microchip 24LC64-I/MS or equivalent) is connected to the SODIMM pins and not the FPGA. It is powered independently by EEPROM_VCC. The purpose of this non-volatile memory is to allow the carrier to query the FOMD-ACV for any information specific to the copy of that unit installed. For example, customers may put serialization information or IP entitlement data into this EEPROM.

Pin connections are listed on the FOMD-ACV’s Pins Reference.

Power

The EEPROM is powered by the externally supplied EEPROM_VCC rail. This rail is separate from anything else on the FOMD-ACV. It may be supplied with 2.5V-5.5V, as required for the controllers I2C interface.

Address

The EEPROMs I2C device address is 1010 A0A1A2x. There are resistor jumpers on the board to set the 3 adjustable address bits. By default the device address is set to 1010 000x. The resistor jumpers can be used to set different device addresses if required. See the table below for information on setting specific addresses.
